Looking back, there are moments in life when I couldn’t have imagined the path ahead, yet each journey, even the hard ones, led me to a place where I could serve God and others more fully. Serving in Waumba Land has been just that—an honor and a blessing to build relationships with families, children, and teachers.

Not only have I developed warm and friendly relationships with Buckhead Church staff, volunteers, parents, grandparents, and children, I have had my heart touched by the returning children that call me Mr. Mark when they arrive and depart.

I can hardly believe the transformation that has taken place. God has replaced the bitterness I once felt with a genuine joy for working with middle school students.

This is our sixth Community Group at Buckhead Church. We love bringing people together so they can make new friends, talk about their faith, and ultimately draw closer to God.

It is through the opportunity to come together as a community that I have seen, known, and experienced the fullness of God.

Watching high school students step up and be bold in their faith inspires me to do the same. I have been amazed at what saying yes to serving has meant to me and my faith.
