I felt God calling me to serve at InsideOut for several years; however, my schedule at the time didn’t allow me to commit. During Covid, my schedule was suddenly empty, and I saw that InsideOut was looking for leaders. I didn’t know what it would look like, especially starting in 2020, but I had no doubt that this was where I needed to be.
Leading a small group of high school girls is constantly challenging me to grow and be more authentic in my faith. Additionally, through IO, I have had the opportunity to lead three InsideOut mission trips. These trips have allowed me to witness God move through students as they serve others in cultures that are so different than what they experience on a daily basis. Watching high school students step up and be bold in their faith inspires me to do the same. I have been amazed at what saying yes to serving has meant to me and my faith. So if you are thinking about serving—say yes! I always thought I needed to be a Bible scholar or have all the answers to serve, but students just want adults who show up consistently and have their best interests at heart. Just show up, and God will handle the rest!
