I'm Tina, and I'm Made For More.

I remember standing in the balcony 8+ years ago when Andy asked for volunteers. In that moment, I felt an undeniable nudge—it was time to serve, even though I wasn’t sure how I’d manage it. I signed up the very next week, during a season when life was full and complicated. At the time, I was leading a large Incentive Travel and Marketing Agency, my daughter was navigating the deep challenges of anxiety and depression, and my son had just started at a new school to support his unique learning needs tied to dyslexia. D

espite all this, something deep in my heart and soul told me to say yes. Looking back, there are moments in life when I couldn’t have imagined the path ahead, yet each journey, even the hard ones, led me to a place where I could serve God and others more fully. Serving in Waumba Land has been just that—an honor and a blessing to build relationships with families, children, and teachers. I believe that if parents see how much we care, if they see our commitment to showing their children the love of God and the friendship of Jesus, they will keep bringing them to church. And through that, their children will grow up with a foundation of love, respect, and confidence that God is always with them. For me, this is about guiding children into a relationship with God—I’m simply a conduit.

Every three years, I start with the Twos and continue with the same class as they grow, all the way until they graduate and move up to UpStreet. I truly love our families and children, and there’s something deeply special about teaching the siblings of past students. It’s a beautiful reminder of our purpose—that when parents see how much we genuinely care for their children and our commitment to showing them God’s love and Jesus’s friendship, they feel encouraged to keep bringing them to church. To me, it’s about creating a lasting, nurturing foundation that supports both the children and their families on their journey with God.
