There are times we know we ought to do something, even when there is no written rule. That's because there is an “ought to” that stands outside of you and over you that didn't originate with you.
The reaction of many evangelicals to political and cultural shifts in recent years revealed what they valued most—winning. But the church is not here to win. It's here for something different.
It's not that we don't think about heaven enough. It's that we don't think highly enough about it.
People ultimately weren’t convinced to follow Jesus because of what he taught. They became convinced because of what they saw.
