GroupLink Team Volunteers

All of the GroupLink volunteer teams are currently full. Recruitment for the 2018-2019 season will begin in the spring of 2018.

Each spring, we look for reliable and friendly volunteers to serve at GroupLink, a two-hour event where people meet and form Community Groups. If you like to help create a welcoming and comfortable environment for group seekers and have fun while serving, please keep reading to learn about the different GroupLink teams!


TYPE OF GROUPLINK

Men’s GroupLinks are on Thursdays, Women’s GroupLinks are on Fridays, and Married Couples’ GroupLinks are on Saturdays. All events are in the evening.

 

TEAM DESCRIPTIONS

Administrative Team
The Administrative Team consists of those who enjoy administrative tasks and are detail-oriented. This team uses our registration system to assign GroupLink attendees to the groups they join by comparing registration lists with each group form. There is a separate Administrative Team for each GroupLink night.

Time Commitment:

  • Participate in a yearly summer training session (2 hours).
  • Attend August 2018 and January 2019 GroupLinks (3 hours each).

Connector Team
Connectors help attendees feel welcome and meet potential group members, assisting them in forming groups. These volunteers are/have been in a Community Group at Buckhead Church and embrace our groups strategy and values. Our Connector Teams for each GroupLink are specific to gender/marital status (i.e., the Men’s GroupLink Connector Team consists of only male volunteers; the Women’s GroupLink Connector Team consists of only female volunteers; and the Married Couples’ Connector Team consists of only married people).

Time Commitment:

  • Interview with staff member.
  • Participate in a yearly summer training session (2 hours).
  • Attend August 2018 and January 2019 GroupLinks (4 hours each).

Event Team
The Event Team helps create a warm and inviting environment. They are responsible for the logistics of the evening, including helping with greeting, check-in, and cleanup/teardown. These volunteers are dependable, flexible, and have a welcoming attitude. There are two Event teams: one team serves during the Thursday and Friday night GroupLinks and the other serves during the Saturday night event.

Time Commitment:

  • Participate in a yearly summer training session (2 hours).
  • Attend August 2018 and January 2019 GroupLinks (4 hours each).
