Frequently Asked Questions

Q

What if I can't attend the launch event for my group?

A

Please make sure you communicate with the contact person for your group that you can’t attend the launch event. If the leader doesn’t hear from you and you don’t attend the event, we will assume you’re no longer interested in joining the group and will release your spot to allow another group member the opportunity to join the group.

Q

If I registered for a Community Group online, does this mean I have joined a group?

A

Yes. The group you register for online will be the group you’ll meet at the launch event.

Q

I didn’t see a group online that works for me. Can I attend the launch event to find a group?

A

No. The group formation process happens online, not at the launch event. The launch event is the group’s first meeting. Please contact us and let us know what type of group you’re looking to join, and we will work with you on next steps.

Q

What happens at the launch event?

A

The launch event is a 90-minute event held at Buckhead Church on the night your group will meet. You’ll circle up with your new Community Group and have your first meeting. All subsequent meetings will take place in homes.

Q

Will I have an opportunity to switch groups at the launch event?

A

No. Group formation happens online where you can see all of the group options and choose the one that best fits your stage of life, area of town, and meeting time. If you realize you need to switch groups, please contact us as soon as possible.

Q

What is the difference between the launch event and a Community Group?

A

You attend the launch event, a 90-minute event, to meet your new Community Group. Community Groups are small groups of six married couples or eight to twelve individuals of the same gender who meet regularly in someone’s home for fellowship, Bible study, and prayer.

Q

Is childcare provided at the launch event?

A

Childcare is not provided, but we do reimburse (at these predetermined rates) for babysitters needed in order to attend the event.

Q

In what areas of town do Buckhead Church groups meet?

A

Buckhead Church divides groups into these geographic areas:

  • Buckhead/Brookhaven
  • Dunwoody/Sandy Springs/East Cobb
  • Midtown/Decatur
  • Smyrna/Vinings

The majority of our groups meet in these areas of town, but groups aren’t limited to these areas. If you don’t see your area of town listed, contact us. We’ll help you determine if joining a group at a different Atlanta-area North Point Ministries church would be closer to you.
